Dr. Ioannis Lykakis studied chemistry at the University of Crete (1997), Greece and after obtaining his Ph.D. from the same University in 2003 he did postdoctoral research at the CNR in Bologna, Italy and at the University of Crete. In 2011 he was appointed as a Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, where he is currently an Associate Professor. So far, he is author of >70 publications in peer reviewed journals and >80 presentations in national and international conferences-meetings, with h-index 24 (Scopus). He has been awarded by the Academy of Athens in 2012 for the best research paper in the field of organic chemistry and by the Empeirikeion Foundation of Athens in 2018 for the financial support of his scientific research. His research interests are focused on Catalysis and Photocatalysis in Green Organic transformations using metal nanoparticles and polyoxometalates, as well as the development of novel catalytic synthetic methodologies of biological active molecules.
