Research

Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis Products

Qualitative and quantitative analysis of foods/natural products through instrumental methods such as high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC-DAD-FLD, HPLC-RID, LC-MS), gas chromatography (GC-FID, GC-MS)

Waste Management with Biotechnological Processes

Detoxification and valorization of industrial wastes/by-products (such as table olive processing wastewaters, grape pomace, cheese whey) with biotechnological processes for the production of food ingredients (organic acids, hydrolytic enzymes, flavorings, pigments)

Microbiological Analysis

Isolation and characterization of bacteria, yeasts and fungi (culture-dependent methods, resistance to stress conditions, minimum inhibitory concentration of a substance, PCR analysis)

Development of Predictive Mathematical Models

Development of predictive mathematical models for process optimization (response surface methodology, mixture design)
