Dr. Chrysanthi Berberidou, Chemist, was awarded her PhD in Chemistry from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2010. The title of her PhD thesis is “Application of Advanced Oxidation Processes in the inactivation of biological targets and pathogens”. She holds a master’s degree in Physical Chemistry of Materials and Electrochemistry as well as a second, in Catalysis and Environmental Protection. She has worked as a researcher for more than twelve years in projects on the photocatalytic inactivation of organic pollutants and pathogens. She has been awarded with a two-year postdoctoral fellowship from the Scholarship State Foundation IKY. She has published fifteen (15) papers in internationally recognized peer-reviewed scientific journals, twenty-five (25) announcements in international and three (3) announcements in national conferences. Her publications have been cited more than 630 times in peer-reviewed international scientific papers.
