Dr. Antigoni Margellou has received her Bachelor in Chemistry, Master in Chemical and Biochemical Technologies and Ph.D. degree from the University of Ioannina in 2018. Currently, she is a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Chemistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her main research interests focus on the characterization and fractionation of lignocellulosic biomass feedstocks, the catalyst design and the characterization, as well as the catalytic processes for the conversion of biomass streams into value added chemicals. As a research fellow, she has participated in 3 long-term research projects, focusing on the biomass characterization and valorization as well as on the materials synthesis and characterization for environmental applications (deNOx and biodiesel production). Dr. Margellou has co-authored 11 publications in international peer-reviewed journals and books, over 40 conference proceedings and 1 patent. She has been award with the EFCAT award for the participation in Europacat XIV conference and the new scientist award for the best oral presentation in 7th Panhellenic Conference on Thermal Analysis. She has served as laboratory assistant in the Laboratory of Chemical Technology (2014-2018) and in the Laboratory of Physical and Chemical Processes (2012-2017) in Department of Chemistry of the University of Ioannina.
